This is a replica of Sydney's ID badge that she wore during the third season of the show.
I really have no clue how accurate it is. It does look similar to the ones seen on screen, but I haven't done any research into the actual prop itself. I recently purchased a big lot of "Fantasy" and "Interpretive" props from a seller on e-bay. This is the source of many of the Alias items that I currently have in my collection. Since all of these items have essentially the same history, you'll see this exact same text repeated on each page that fall into this category. Though most of these props are not very inspired or exciting, they're pretty neato. And at three bucks a piece, hard to beat. You can get your own set, along with a bunch of other fun paper props at their ebay store. Check it out. The ID's purchased fall into one of two categories; "Fantasy" props or "Interpretive" props. I define these categories as follows. A Fantasy prop is something that was never seen on screen, nor was is it ever made for production. It's simply an artists idea of something that COULD HAVE BEEN used by a character, or seen on the screen. Very frequently, props are made for a movie that do not make it on screen, or are simply used in a way that isn't visually represented. Blade Runner is ripe with props like this. In this case, a fantasy prop was made by an artist who thought that this item could exist in the given universe. An Interpretive prop is a piece that is a replica of something seen on screen, but has numerous "personal" touches added by the artist to either make the prop more visually appealing, more fun, or simply to cover undiscovered facts about the piece. The point is that it's inspired by an on screen prop, but there wasn't a hard effort made to duplicate every detail in excruciating, well... detail!! |
