This is a replica of the wallet and card credentials carried by Sydney in the Third season of Alias.
This is really the cornerstone of my Alias collection, and is the prop that kicked off my quest to find other props from the show. All of the other props were discovered during my search for info on this prop.
The wallet you see here is a prototype made by me. I plan on making another one, as the leather proved to be a little too flexible for my liking. I purchased the leather at my local Tandy store. The clear vinyl was found at a discount fabric store two blocks from my house. Very lucky too, as it was the first place I tried. The sewing of this piece is going to require an industrial strength sewing machine, which I just happen to have access to. I hope to get this finished soon.
The graphics were made based on some really great close up screen captures from an early third season episode of Alias. I did some DVD grabs, then straightened them up in Photoshop. I used Adobe Illustrator to trace out all of the signatures and text. The CIA shield was found online, and heavily modified by me. I think the only parts that remain from the original are the shield in the center with the eagle head.
The photo is a heavily modified publicity photo. The one seen on the screen used ID was a very peculiar shot, that I tried to replicate. I think I might switch back to a more traditional pose, if only to make my ID a bit different.
This piece was a lot of fun to make, and came together pretty quickly. All of the fonts were fairly straightforward stock fonts. Only the picture of Sydney proved to be trouble. The leather was very easy to work with, and came out pretty well for my first stab at leather work.
