Gotham Public Works Crest

This is a piece of set dressing that appeared in numerous places throughout Batman Returns.

This took me a total of about 2 hours to complete.

This was a nice little quick and dirty prop. I didn't really go all out on it, because I figured it was better to have a decent looking prop that is finished, than a great looking prop that will never be finished.

The resin piece needed very little clean up. Just a little sanding around the back, and a few of the cogs. I picked a few bubble out from around the bar that the dude is holding in the crest, but that's about it.

I hit it with a couple of coats of my trusty Plasti-Kote automotive primer, then went straight in with a few coats of Rustoleum Antique Brass. It's a really nice paint that dries very smooth to the touch.

That's it! I was thinking of doing some dark washes on it to give it a little more texture, and a bit of a worn down feel to it, but I figured I'd probably either muck it up, or never finish it properly. Either way, I think it looks pretty decent for what it is. It's not really a prop, just a piece of set dressing, so I didn't really want to go nuts with it.
