This Batarang is three pieces. There is a central body made out of resin, and two wings which are made out of styrene. The wings are supported on the back by two thin strips of styrene. The control panel on the front of the rang is cast into the body and hand painted. The viewscreen appears to be some kid of colored paper underneath a sheet of thin, transparent styrene.
I have long entertained fantasies of making a folding version of this batarang, but like so many other projects, that got pushed to the back burner. Frankly, I'm not that big of a fan of this piece, so I will probably never do it.
Either way, it's a very well made piece, and I'm proud to have it in my collection. This is one of the first Batarangs that I ever owned. The Batarang has always held my fascination, for some reason. Since the first movie came out in 1989, I was dying to get my hands on a batarang. At this time, I have at least one batarang from each of the four movies.
