This is a replica of the business card held by Korben Dallas in my favorite movie, The Fifth Element. Though the card was only seen minimally on screen, I thought it would be a fun little prop to add to my collection.
I took a shot at this prop a couple of years ago, but lost steam due to lack of good screen captures and reference. The card is seen most clearly late in the movie, when it is stuck to the door of Korben's appartment. The best captures I could get left many details murky, so I left the project alone.
Much later, I got ahold of a high definition copy of the movie, which yielded some much better information about the prop. With the help of some online friends, I was able to piece together a lot of information about the real prop, and ended up producing a highly accurate piece.
I nailed ALL of the fonts. They are exactly the same as the ones used on the screen used pieces. Some of the mystery text was also nailed precisely. The only questionable piece of this entire prop is the overall size. I had to estimate, so I used the measurements of a real business card as a guide.
The card was printed onto grey cardstock using my inkjet printer. I then applied plotter cut vinyl pieces for the details, just like the one on screen.
Despite the fact that this is a pretty minor prop in the film, and dances dangerously close to the fringes of Z-listerdom, I still think it's a fun little piece.
I've blurred out a bunch of the text on the image, as I grow continually frustrated with people who turn my hard work into profit for themselves. (This means you, Paul!)
