Session Nine
I've prepped this grey car for molding the engine guts. As mentioned earlier, my plan is to mold this to use a casting as reference for rebuilding the engine. Once molded, I plan on sanding down both engine parts panels and getting on with the casting of the body. Optimally, when the project is finished, I'll have a main body with all the undercarriage parts attached, and two add-on pieces that contain all the engine parts. This will allow me to make quality pours of all the parts to minimize bubbles.
Though this isn't really a progress picture, I wanted to outline my plans. I acquired this new piece a few months back. Though it's in rough shape, the ever elusive transmissions are actually in pretty good shape. Far better shape than the ones on my master. So I am going to extract the transmissions and engine pods from this white piece, and graft them onto my new master. I'm also going to extract the "Speeder bike cowling" from this piece, clean it up, and integrate it into my rebuild. This will save me the time of scratch building a new one.
