As seen in "Guardian of The Realm"
This probably took me about three hours from start to finish.

I created this card in Adobe Illustrator using just my imagination. The script calls for something
that they slide into a card reader to gain access to different parts of "The CORE", an underground
control center, so I wanted to make sure it had the tell-tale magnetic stripe on the back.
I also wanted to put a barcode on it, to make it look kind of "12 Monkey's", if you know what I mean. The thumb print is pretty classic ID card fare, but I wanted to put in something kind of trippy, so I added a little section called "Genome", which apparently describes a portion of their DNA. I figured this would be a good way for the core to verify their identity, should visual check not prove good enough. There's also a little box called "Sine". I don't really know what info this is supposed to contain, but the idea is that it's something about their brain wave or something that is unique, that can be used to confirm their identity. I guess my whole motivation was to provide the good folks at The Core with more than one way to confirm the identity of a person. Shape shifting demons can be a real pain in the butt, but I figure with all of these different techniques at their disposal, they're sure to sniff out any imposters. As with most of my graphics projects, this was printed out on my HP970CsE in reverse onto transparency paper, then backed with white sign making vinyl. I then put 2 sided scotch tape on the back of the print outs, trimmed them up, and stuck the two halves onto a piece of styrene. I made a similar card for another character in the movie named Alex Marlowe. Check it out on this page. |
