This is a resin version of the headpiece. I think I paid about 40 dollars for it.
It has a very nice sculpt, though it is well travelled. I have seen this sculpt before, and usually
it comes with a story like "This is cast from the original" or "I sculpted this myself". Amazing, as
I see this sculpt all over the place. That aside, I think it's a great little piece. The detail is
very crisp, though there is some loss of quality around the edge of the knot pattern that surrounds
the piece.
I made the center crystal myself using two little plastic crystals from Michaels. I sanded off the
silver backing that was originally on them, and glued them together using five minute epoxy. I like
the clear crystal much more than the ones with the mirror surface in the middle. I think it makes it
look a lot more like the metal one that I have.
The paint job on this is pretty cool, though the pictures don't do it justice. I think the maker
used a couple different types of gold paint on it to get it to look funky. I'm very happy with
this piece, and I think it's a great addition to the collection, as it shows another interpretation
of a very memorable movie prop.
