As seen in "The Sixth Day"
|
Sadly, this fun movie did not do too well in the theaters, but I thought it was great.
A lot of stuff blew up, there were lasers, and a well placed thong. Not bad for an Arnie
movie. The most memorable prop from the movie was the Foosh gun. It shot flames out of its
sides and made a "foosh" sound when fired.
There was a lot of debate over the origins of this prop, but I believe it was fabricated in part by a dude named Aaron Mack, who recently worked for Mattel. We learned that the gun was largely SLA grown, and also used some custom machined parts. The piece here is a resin casting painted by a friend of mine who works in the industry. We managed to round up the precise paint codes that were used on the film version, and used the same paints on this one. I think it turned out great. In the pictures, it looks as if it is all the same color black, but it is not. There is also some very subtle wheathering around the flash suppressor. Good stuff. This was made using a resin pull of the stunt gun that I got ahold of through a fellow collector. This piece is also in my collection. If you're making your own Foosh gun, download the paint scheme here. |
