This is an absolutely fabulous piece of work, and I tip my hat to the maker. Too bad I don't
know who he is! If you happen to know who drew this masterpiece, please drop me a line so I
can give credit where credit is due. Updated: I just got an e-mail from Chris Meeks, the dude
who made this thing. Chris, great work, and great job! You da man!!
In early 2001, someone started kicking around the idea of making the Time Bandits map. I thought
it was a great idea, as it was a movie that I had really liked as a kid. Injected with a huge
dose of enthusiasm, I thought it would be cool to sit down and draw one out. I've always been
pretty good at Adobe Illustrator, and I thought it would be a great tool to hack it out with.
I dilligently rounded up the DVD from an online source, and even went so far as to make screen
captures on a friends computer. Then I realized just how complicated the whole thing was, and
promptly lost interest.
Flash forward to late 2002 when this beauty shows up on the internet. It's printed on heavy stock
canvas, and looks absolutely great close up. Whomever drew this up went to great lengths to get
it right. I compared this one with a bunch of the screen caps, and it's dead on. There appear to
be some fine details in the background that were skipped, but you can barely tell, and would never
know.
This is a totally great piece, and I hope to get it framed some day and show it off to potential
mates.
