Though not a very exciting piece by any stretch of the imagination, the story
behind them is slightly interesting.
Shortly after the release of the movie, and everyone was scrambling for props
or costumes from the movie, a company going by the name of "Imposter Wear" or something
like that released a line of shades from the movie. There were Morpheus shades,
Trinity shades, and of course, Neo Shades.
Enter a guy going by the name of "IndianaJones" who promised good prices for these
shades based on bulk orders. I think he was offering them at roughly 20 dollars a
piece. Like any project on the RPF that runs under 20 bucks, tons of people jumped
at the opportunity, and frantically sent their money to this guy, without a lick of
credibility to his name. Sure enough, time rolls by, the excuses start piling up,
and no one is getting their glasses. Then someone finds out that you can actually
buy the glasses directly from Imposter Wear for cheaper than what IndianaJones was
asking. Somehow, I was one of the few people who actually got their glasses out of
the deal.
Almost a week after I got them, Richard Ray sat on them and flattened them.
Oh well. All in all, they are pretty accurate to the movie glasses, and considering
the fact that they survived the full frontal assault of a 200+ lb marine, I'd say
they were pretty well made.
