This was an experiment. I received this disk as a gift, as part of a trade. The resin casting was thrown in for good measure.
I was originally tempted to sell the piece, as I am not a big predator fan, nor was I overly impressed with the casting.
So, I decided to see how fast I could crank out a finished prop, and not really pay super attention to details that would normally
make a project last much longer.
I attacked the seam with a dremel tool and some low grit sand paper. A real hack job. I just wanted to clean up the flash.
For the finger holes, I did the same thing, and consequently trashed them. Oh well. I sprayed it with a coat or primer and went
straigt to hitting it with some Rustoleum copper. For detailing, I went in with my airbrush and some Plasti-kote paint just
for some shadowing. I was really just experimenting, seeing how it would look. I drybrushed on some details on the "control panel" and
called it quits
Surprisingly, it turned out decently. By no means is this a work of art, but oh well. Whadda ya gonna do?
The disk does not open. It's solid.
