While the ring is not entirely accurate, it’s a pretty good interpretation not only of the ring seen in the movie, but the ring worn by “The Ghost Who Walks” for decades. These were given away for free at 7-11’s all across the country.
For some reason, the movie did not do as good as expected. I don’t know why, as it was pretty darn cool. Maybe The Phantom just isn’t as accessible as other, more popular heroes like Superman and Batman. I found the movie to not only be very faithful to the original character (who has been around FOREVER), but also very entertaining. I think the one element I did not like was the Treat Williams portrayal of Xander Drax. A little too over the top for my liking.
