I have had a lot of really great luck lately in assembling my costume. I just acquired these gloves, which are the exact same found item that were used in the film. A friend of mine sent me a link for a couple of places online to purchase the gloves, and has authorized me to post them here for reference. The gloves used in the movie were “HAU6P Flyers Gloves”. They go by different names on different sites. For example, on site refers to them as “HAU 6/P”. No wonder why they are so hard to find. There have been two sources on the web located that sell these. Hawkeye, And Army/Navy Sales. I ordered mine from Army/Navy. They arrived in three days. They fit pretty darn well for a pair of gloves that are so old. I don’t know if they are vintage circa 1930, or whenever the Rocketeer is set, but they look and feel pretty old. However, they are unused. Crazy stuff! Please note that these are just the “inner” gloves, and are not the control gauntlets. Those are separate pieces, and have not yet been acquired. At this point, I’m not sure if I’m going to have time to do those before halloween of 2004. No big deal though. If anyone questions me, I’ll sock ‘em!! A big thanks to the passionate Rocketeer fans out there who helped me to acquire these gloves, and who provided reference material. Heck, I’m just benefitting from all of their hard work at this point. Remind me to buy you a drink next time our paths cross!!
