This is my second version of the Smallville key in my collection. This is from a different artisan, and was made using different techniques. I beleive this is also laser cut aluminum, but unlike the other key in my collection, the text on this key appears to be silk screened on. I like this effect a bit better than the laser cut text in my other key. The laser cut text tends to be "stepped" here and there, as it is a digital cut with discrete movements in the x and y axis of the cutter. With silk screening, you can get smooth transitions and beautifully straight diagonal lines. Also, the cuts on the edges are much smoother, even a bit rounded. Not sure if this is accurate, but it looks cool. Though I like this key better, I beleive it is oversized. Like my green key (from the same artisan), it should fit snugly in the desktop holder, but it's a bit too big. I'll have to research this further to be sure.
