This page will document the build up of a recently acquired Bajoran Phaser Rifle. This is such a neat looking piece, and it has such an interesting color scheme, that I thought it might be worthwhile documenting the process. I hope to have this piece display ready within two weeks of start date.

I've decided to make this piece somewhere in between "museum quality" and "production quality". I consider my Romulan Disruptor to be museum quality, as I spent A TON of time on it. Puttied it like crazy, worked on it for months. Too much time for something so small. For production, a prop house might have to make something like this in one day, maybe two. With those time constraints, they will skip details that will never be seen on screen. I want my piece to be a little cleaner than production quality, but a little less perfect than museum quality.

Initial clean up and primering. This is the first step in the process. Includes a few "Before" shots, and walks you through the initial clean up and prep of the rifle.

Here I attach the stock to the body.

Let the fun begin! On with the painting!

All Finished. Click on the pic to the left to go to the page for the final, built up rifle.
