Another piece of television history has fallen into the evil clutches of Matt Munson. This PADD is a screen used piece, and
was used in an episode of Deep Space Nine.
At the time of this writing, I don't know which episode it was used in, but I'm going to track that down. This was given to me by a friend
who has asked me to do a build up of a model kit for him. This was given as payment. Not a bad deal.
The construction of this PADD is very interesting. It looks like they took a 1/4 inch sheet of MDF, cut it to the proper shape,
then printed out a graphic and stuck it to the front. The entire front side is one piece of printed paper. The display screen,
the buttons, the simulated recessions, everything! The MDF looks to be painted in classic 7173, with a decal applied to the
back. There are no "easter eggs" on this padd. It's very straightforward.
I'm very happy with this piece, not only because it was screen used, but because it illustrates an alternative technique that was
used by the prop makers to bring PADDs to life.
