This was originally made at the request of a friend of mine. He found some screen captures
and an e-bay auction that depicted the panel. The ebay auction was for a fan made one, and
had some inaccuracies, so I decided to base mine from the screen capture.
I started by taking the screen cap and cropping it down. I rotated, skewed, and resized the
image of the doorbell until it looked almost rectangular.
I then imported this image into Adobe Illustrator and traced out the lines and curves
that made up the panel.
Once that was done, I printed it onto reverse transparency paper using my HP 970CsE printer.
After leaving it time to dry, I backed it with a coat of white sign making vinyl, and then
with a coat of this really neat two sided adhesive sheet that was given to me by a friend.
I mounted this on a sheet of .080 inch styrene, and cut along the edges of the doorbell,
making the final unit. I then took a Sharpie and colored the edges of the styrene black.
I was very happy with the end results. I think this piece turned out really great. I tried
to hang it on my wall at home, but got busted by the girl! Oh well.
