There's a bit of a history on this neat little piece. The story is that this was sculpted by the good boys at HMS for use in the film Star Trek: Insurrection, but when they got the finished piece to set, it was too small to be used, so they dropped it. I guess that makes it a concept piece. I have NO idea if this story is even a little bit true, but I do know that this is a very nice little piece. It has a laser pointer inside it with a rechargeable battery. When you press down the silver button on the control panel, the laser goes on. Clever, eh? The piece is about three inches long, maybe a little shorter. I really like the design of it, and I'm sorry to see that it didn't get used in the film. I think it's a great little piece of trek history, and I'm VERY proud to have this in my collection.
