This is another one of those pieces that I am particularly proud of. This is something I have wanted in my collection for a long time, but simply never found the time to do right. A long time ago, I put together some templates for building your own padd out of styrene, but I never got around to building one for myself. As time went on, and my connections in the film industry grew, I ultimately got a hold of a resin casting of a real padd. I used this casting to re-do my drawings, and decided to go all out and put together a laser cut kit of the padd.

The item pictured here is the first build up to come out of that kit.

The graphics were drawn be me using Adobe illustrator, and the help of a couple of talented friends on the web who are far better at 3D graphics than me. The graphics on this particular build up are printed out on a laser printer, and are not coated with any treatment.

The LCARS sticker on the back was provided by a friend named Sean who runs a great website named www.lcarscom.com. If you have a chance to visit, I highly recommend it. The vinyl button on the front was drawn by me, but plotter cut by a pal in the sign making industry named Casey. Thanks casey!

I have put together a full online tutorial showing the steps I went through to create this build up. If you’re interested in one for yourself, drop me an e-mail.
