This is a "Made for Production" Padd Graphic. I say "made for production" in the sense that it was made by the same prop house that made the stuff for the show, but for one reason or another, was not used on screen. Why was it not used on screen? Probably because they had multiples, and just never had need for it. I've recently added a few of these graphics to my website, so if these first few paragraphs seem familiar, it's because I copied and pasted it to save time. These particular graphics are designed to fit into the large style voyager padds. I am not sure if these were designed for one episode in particular, or if they were re-used throughout the life of the show. As you can see, it's some type of medical display that really would have been appropriate for any shots that took place in sick bay. The quality of this piece is fantastic. It looks as if the graphic was printed out on a dye-sublimation printer. There's a coating of moisture resistant stuff over it that will protect it against damage. Great stuff, and a darn nice design too. Notice that the corners were to be cut square. The graphic is actually a good deal smaller than the screen window on the large padd. Probably a quarter to a half inch on every side. I guess this made it easier to swap out graphics. No need for rounding out corners or cutting slivers of paper off to make it drop perfectly into the window. Interesting!
