This is a fan "built" strip of latinum. I say "built" because though the casting is of a real piece, it was painted by a fan. I suppose I might want to come up with a classification system for stuff like this, but I'm confident I have better things to do with my time. Well, not really confident, but it sounds good on paper. Not really much of a story to tell on this one other than it's a casting of the real thing. These were used in a few episodes, but never really saw any close up screen time. I think they were used the most whenever someone would travel to Ferenginar, and needed to bribe some official. They have these boxes close to doorways and on desks that you have to put a strip of latinum in to in order to see some bureaucrat. I forget the details... and thank god!
