This is a working Mark VII Medical tricorder with working scanner. There is no sound on this piece.
This is a commissioned piece that was custom built for me by none other than Ed Miarecki, the very same genius behind the tricorders built for the show. I had to drag Ed kicking and screaming to get this built, but he eventually succumbed to my charms and agreed to do the build up. I was amazed at how quickly the piece got into my hands. If you would like to see some of Ed’s work, please visit his website at http://www.edmiarecki.com. For commission work, you can contact him directly at edmiarecki@comcast.net. (Please note, this information was added with permission from the builder.) Now that the formalities are out of the way, I should say that this is the nicest build up of a Mark VII tricorder that I have ever seen. The attention to detail is amazing. The fact that it’s incredibly clean, without dings or scratches make it that much better. As the owner of a couple of screen used tricorders, I can tell you that this build up is indistinguishable from my other pieces, save for the wear and tear that builds up over time on the screen used pieces. This is my first medical Mark VII, and is a great place to put the collection to sleep. At this point, I have almost all of the tricorders from TNG. I’m missing a few from the movies and other shows, but my quest for the ultimate tricorder collection is almost at a close. |
