Though not pictured, this tricorder does include a fully functional (ie, sound and lights) hand scanner that fits into a pocket on the back of the tricorder.
The differences between the Ds9 medical Mark X and other tricorders are subtle. It has red scanning lights on the main scanner at the head of the tricorder. it also has a different shaped brushed gold vinyl sticker on the scanning head. Other than that, I think it's the same as other tricorders. I'm going to eventually put together a geneology of tricorders, which will hopefully outline the differences between the various models of tricorders, but for now, you'll just have to take my word for it.
As with many of the other tricorders in my collection, this tricorder is about as close to the real deal as I'll ever need to get. It was made using super accurate graphics and electronics, a door casting from the same lineage as the ones used in the show, and a vacuu-formed body made from a buck that also shares studio lineage.
