This piece is a real beauty that I've been after for some time. This is one of the "R&D" tricorders that have
been making the rounds for some time. It's one of the early models that has the resin body.
This tricorder has four different sound schemes, and a removable hand scanner in the back. The hand scanner is
similar to the other one in my collection. Same vintage, same features.
It was over the Mark X project that I ended up leaving the "R&D" group in disgust. Though my story of the caper no doubt
differs from theirs, the details are unimportant at this time.
The graphics on this tricorder were drawn by me based on a scan I had acquired of the real Mark X medical graphics.
The finish on this tricorder is done in the traditional "R&D" paint job, which features GM auto paints and the tough-as-nails
clear coat. This tricorder is also rechargable. The LED's along the top/back scanning array are blue, and add a very
nice effect to the overall piece.
The craftsmanship on this piece is a little wanky, but nice overall. The door is a little crooked, and the body has a few
wonks on it that I would have taken out had it been made by me.
