This is what I would call a "stunt" version of the hand phaser seen in Nemesis. The genuine hero version of the prop had a sliding cowl that revealed all kinds of electronics and gizmos. However, this piece is not a true stunt, in the sense that it is not made of rubber, nor is it made to less exacting standards.

The piece was built up by a friend of mine in Phoenix, AZ. He acquired a casting of the HMS Endgame (or "dolphin) phaser, and used this as the basis of his Nemesis phaser. He retooled the control panel, grinding the original off and replacing it with a laser cut part. The buttons and smoked acrylic panel are also laser cut.

The nozzle appears to be painted with Krylon bright silver, and does not feature any blue sparkly paper underneath. The emitter hole is also left untreated.

The phaser is missing the two domes that were found on the underside of the phaser in Nemesis. I am uncertain if these details were intentionally left off, or were simply unknown at the time of building.

Despite the few inaccuracies, this is a very well crafted piece. The paint job is top notch, and the grips appear to be cast separately in black resin. Very nice and clean.
