I did this build up shortly after I got the printer that I used on my 29th century
tricorder project.
This padd was one piece, that needed only a little sanding on the back, and a little
hole plugging. I made the mistake of using squadron putton on a deep hole, which consequently
expanded when I painted it. DO NOT USE SQUADRON PUTTY ON PROPS! After sanding this, I
primered it and painted it with the trusty Plasti-kote 7173. However, I beleive that this
should have been painted using the Krylon Dove/Slate grey. I'm not really sure, but since
I have a couple more padd kits to build up, I don't think I'll change this one. The
graphics were made by me, and printed on my super duper printer. They are printed in reverse
onto transparency paper, then backed with white sign makers vinyl. They have a slick feel
to them that I think makes the prop great. The silver button is a piece of brushed aluminum
vinyl that I drew and had specially cut for my padd projects.
