From my estimates, they are using a base very similar to the MPP replica that was offered on-line a while back by a Hong Kong based replica maker named "Larry". Though there have been a few improvements since Larry's original offering, they seem pretty darn close.
The grips are probably the best part of the replica. From what I understand, they are resin with some kind of coating that makes them feel as if they are rubber. They have also been beveled so that they sit on top of the end cap, keeping them flush along the entire length of the handle.
The d-ring appears to be the proper size, and the placement of the calculator bubbles is dead on.
Not much I can say about this replica other than it's really nice, and I'm really happy to have yet another saber in my collection! Way to go Master Replicas.
