This is the licensed Han Solo Empire blaster produced by Master Replicas.

How frickin' cool is this! This is a piece I've wanted to get my hands on for a long, long time. Personally, I'm a big blaster fan, and this piece from Master Replicas does not disappoint. It has a very nice heft to it, looks very well made, and sports a graphic inside the scope depicting some kind of crazy star-wars-looking crosshair.

Looks like some kind of export laws in China forbade MR from making the trigger move, but frankly, who the hell cares. This piece will spend its life in a display case, not having its trigger pull. Though it's a minor functionality issue, it's absolutely meaningless to me. You may as well argue that it doesn't fire lasers, and is therefore inaccurate. Please.

The paint job is pretty neat. It looks weathered, and rubbed in all the right places. The scope has the traditional brass/bronze highlights that are often present on real scopes. I think that's a pretty nice touch. Overall, the weathering is pretty light.

I'm not quite sure about the finish on the flash supressor, but only because I'm not really sure what it's supposed to look like. I expected it to be satin aluminum, but that expectation is based solely on previous, fan made replicas that have been available. I don't really know what is "accurate" to the filmed prop, but I think the finish on the MR piece is very nice.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about the graphic in the scope though. I don't believe that it's accurate to any pistol seen in the film, but is more of an "idealization" made by MR. No sweat though, it's VERY minor, and doesn't detract from the overall coolness of the piece.

Yes, I'm very happy with this piece. I like it a lot. Give me three more just like it. For those of you that don't have one, I must point out that the packaging alone is worth the price of admission. Somehow, they managed to engineer it so that the blaster actually ships inside the display case. There's a world of complicated styrofoam involved, and man is it impressive. Start saving that milk money, teens.
