The saber is made from machined aluminum, and cast parts. I'm really not too familiar with the Jedi version of this saber, though I beleive the history of the movie saber has its origins in a real graflex. From the looks of this replica, that may indeed have been the case. I beleive the took a Graflex, chopped it up, and added on some detail parts to make it look more like an MPP, which is what they used for the saber in ANH and ESB.
I have heard from some other collectors that this version is wrong in a few key ways, but I have yet to discover those problems on my own. Then again, I have done absolutely no research into the matter, so if you have any information on it, please send it along to matthewmunson@yahoo.com
