This is a pretty top notch piece made by a friend of mine who I met through my search for quality X-files ID's and other info. I recently acquired a set of three seventh season badges; Mulder, Scully, and Doggett. The main differences between these badges and I make are as follows: These ones have darker blue lettering, the pictures appear to be laser printed and altered in photoshop, and the pictures are printed separately and then adhered to the badges. Though the technique of printing the picture separately is more accurate, I tend to favor the "All at once" approach, as it cuts down on production time. Also of note on this piece is that it has a screen accurate back to it. I'm not sure if this was the first badge to feature a back side graphic or not, but it looks pretty cool. I'm guessing that a script called for some kind of graphic on the back, and it was added for that episode, and used from then on.
