As far as I can tell, things are getting really close to being finished, so I'm pushing towards final assembly.
Today found me breaking R2 all the way down to his component parts, at least torso wise. I'm going to re-assemble the whole guy using threadlocker on all of the screws. I was very surprised to see R2 vibrating himself to pieces (literall) while test driving, so I'm going to need to make sure there's something more than tension holding him together. This product came strongly recommended. We shall see.
I started with the battery frame, stripped it all down, and re-assembled it with all of the screws and bolts squirted with the aforementioned goo.
And then moved on to the main body. It's all done now.
Next trick will be to attach the skins. Then I'm going to putty up the seams and screw holes, and prep for painting. I hope I haven't forgotten anything.
