No trip to Italy would be complete without a dip in the Mediterranean Sea. The group took a day trip down to Grosseto, THE place to go to engage in such pursuits.

Let's start at the end, and work our way backwards. Here's the beach! You can't really tell from the photo, but it was a beautiful day. Sun was shining, a good breeze, and nice water. The temperature was perfect! I swam out pretty far, but the water never got really deep. The ground was always just a couple of inches away.

Here's me at the helm of the Berlingo. Crazy European cars! Makes me thankful that I learned to drive stick shift all those years ago.

And here's a little sign that sort of pointed the way to the beach. The funny part about the beaches here is that you have to walk through 20 minutes of dense forest in order to get to the bach. There's all these trails winding in and out of the forest. And yes, of course we got lost.

Prior to departure, we stopped at a gas station for a fill up. Yup, that's a gas station. Craziness I tell you!
