NERD ALERT!! NERD ALERT!!! Well, I'm not exactly proud of this day, but it was A LOAD of fun! A travelling exhibit called "Star Trek: The Tour" came to a town near me. I just had to go and check it out. Regular readers of my website and blog will know that I'm not only a fan of movie props, but I'm also a fan of science fiction. So when this freak show came to town, I just couldn't resist. I don't know about you, but I had a great time. 40 bucks well spent. Oh, fifty if you count parking. Sixty if you throw in the batteries I had to buy for my digi camera. Oh, and an extra 12 for a sandwich and water. Ok, so maybe it wasn't the BEST seventy five bucks I've ever spent, but it was fun.

One of the main attractions was a near-complete reconstruction of the bridge of the original series enterprise. The show wanted to charge like twenty bucks for a photo of you sitting in the captains chair. Fortunately, a fellow trek fan helped me out and snapped this photo of me stretchin' my legs out in Kirk's lay-z-boy. NICE!

They also had a full sized reconstruction of one of the hallway sets from The Next Generation. Not exactly accurate, but still pretty neat nonetheless.

Seeing as how the whole show was right next to the Queen Mary, I figured it was only fair to snap a pic of the boat too. I mean, when in Rome. Right??

And here's a pic across the harbor, showing Long Beach (or "The LBC" to locals) herself. Nice city. From across the bay, that is. oh snap!!
