I visited this tiny town on the tail end of my trip to Rome. The train ride from Rome back to Siena has you making a transfer here. When I arrived, I found that the transfer train was not due for another 90 minutes. This struck me as a great chance to explore the town.

This is a very typical small italian town. There is sort of a blend between really old and totally contemporary, with no attempts to make the two vastly differing architectural styles merge or blend. Kind of a shame, but it makes finding the older buildings a real treat.

This was taken in the main square, right off the train station. I cannot say for sure if this was the center of town, but based on the limited walk-around I did, I am thinking it is.

I thought this was funny, because this is an american made car that is only marketed overseas. You don't find this type of car rolling the streets of Ohio!

Seems like every town in Italy has a gelateria, and I am somehow drawn to them all. This one was pretty nice, and served up a mean stracciatella. Nobody in there spoke a single word of English, but my eight or nine words of Italian were enough to get us through the transaction.

Here's my train that is going to take me on the final leg of my trip back to Siena!
