July, 2009

Cashing in on the whole Stranger in a Strange Land phenomenon, I thought it would be a good idea to head down to southern Ohio for the weekend of the forth of July for some camping. While the camping was pretty darn fun, the hiking was a bit of a let down. I guess I'm kind of spoiled, as I have probably done some of the best hiking in the world. So doing the one mile loop at Hocking Hills wasn't much of a challenge. I did manage to find a trail that was almost a seven mile loop, which proved to be a pretty good piece of walking, but the trails were far too manicured and busy for my liking. Still, don't get me wrong. It was a fun trip.

One of the main attractions along the trail, the suspension bridge. I kid you not. There were signs for it and everything.

Perhaps slightly more impressive is the dog named Dozer that was CONSTANTLY napping on the floor of the main house at the camp site. Now THAT is entertainment.

I think this was Crystal Falls or something. This was at one end of the one mile loop.

This is a little fishing lake adjacent to the campgrounds. Pretty!

Speaking of trails, this is pretty much what most of the trails around the Hocking Hills park looked like. Kinda hard to get lost.

Funny thing about these signs is that each thing they point to is probably about 500 yards apart. Whew! Quite a workout! not.
