July, 2009

This is one of those tiny, TINY little places just a few miles away from Pieve A Castello that we visit every year. The first time I was here, I spent a lot of time exploring the entire village on foot, and I documented it all really well. Not sure how many of those pictures made it to the website, but the point is that I've been pretty thoroughly through the place.

The reason we come back year after year is for the food. There is a small restaurant right off the main streen called "L'Astronave", which basically means "The Space Ship", which is kind of a weird name for a humble, traditional italian restaurant. It does not change the fact that the food is amazing. Though I must confess the service has gone to heck. Perhaps they are following the French model when it comes to treating non-Italians. Very strange, but the food was still great!!

Looks like some kind of church thingie, right across the street from the seating area of the restaurant.

Here is the main restaurant itself. Though there is seating inside, it's much more fun to sit out in the open air on the patio.

Did someone say patio?? Yeah, it looks kind of cheesy with the lawn furniture, but it doesn't matter!

This is what I ordered. yum!! Sorry the pic is a little blurry, but it was starting to get dark.
