I paid a quick visit to a good friend and business owner in Huntington Beach to do a little consulting work, and also to soak up some of the local hospitality. The Old World Village in Huntington is a really interesting place. And that's me being polite. It's kind of like a funky 70's theme shopping center. It's right across the street from a sparkling, brand new shopping center that is a showpiece for urban renewal. So it's all kind of funny, if you ask me.

I'm not even sure what fascinated me about this building, but it's very indicative of the types of places you find in the village.

Many of the units in this place have a store on the ground floor, and an apartment on the top. VERY european. Conceptually, the whole thing is actually really interesting. But I don't think it ever totally caught on the way the owner/developer was hoping.

Check out those russian looking raddish things! Craziness! Who does that!

Back to civilization! We hit a restaurant in the NICE mall across the street after the tour. Looks kinda swanky!
