While updating my website, I realize just how much stuff I did when I was in California for this trip! I was all over the place! On this day, I took an afternoon to head down to Newport Beach to hang out with some friends at a really cool water-facing bar called the Rusty Pelican. I am a huge fan of their pommegranite margarita. So yummy, and highly recommended. The view is also just amazing.

Quick story for you. I parked on the street at one of the meters, but didn't have any change. I zoomed into the Rusty Pelican (which could NOT have been more than a block away) to get some change. By the time I got back, I had already gotten a ticket! Damn you Rita!! So be careful when you are in Newport!

Here's the view of the harbor from my table.

And here's the view of my table!

Another great shot of the harbor. Luckily, the sun totally came out the minute I sat down. It was a bit dreary earlier on, but in typical SoCal fashion, the marine layer burned off pretty quickly.

I took this picture because it's a great homage (though unintentional) to a song from The Folksmen.

I believe that is Fashion Island over on the right. Maybe not. Who cares. It's Newport.

I thought this was a very cool and interesting looking art Deco building, right across the street from the restaurant.
