August, 2004

Florence was just a day trip on one of my trips to Pieve a Castello, but since 2004 was a pretty thin year for travel, I thought it was worth including. Because after all, if you're not doing something significant with your life, you should at least make a good effort to fake it.

But I digress. Florence was quite cool, with the only bummer being that it's so TOTALLY sold out to tourists. It's basically like disney land, only people live there, and it's not as clean. Everything costs three euros. If you want to go in the church, it's three euros. If you want to climb the tower, it's three euros. If you want to use the bathroom... well, you get the idea.

Naked men all around! Here's the famous COPY of David. The real one is in a building next door, and you have to pay (you guessed it) three euros to see it. Fat chance, batty boy.

I forget where I took this but it was on top of some tower that I paid three euros to climb. Excellent view of what is a really beautiful city.

Same as above. Another great view from a tower.

Here's that one famous jewelry bridge whose name eludes me at the moment. Must not be that famous after all.
