Le Rozier is a beautiful little town (or maybe a village. I still don't know what the population lines of demarcation are on these types of things.) in the middle of Les Cevennes, the area I've been exploring for the past week. I walked into Le Rozier from another nearby town, which is also featured on my website. The hike into Le Rozier was about six and a half hours, much of it over even terrain. So a pretty good distance, if you ask me.

The nicest thing about the walk into Le Rozier was a place that looked out over a huge local gorge. The place was called "Pointe Sublime", and it was indeed delightful. From there, I could see Le Rozier far off in the distance, and gorges for miles and miles.

Super walker Matt Munson standing at Pointe Sublime, with Le Rozier nestled in between the mountains in the back ground.

Noting the picture to the left, this was the view that I could see from where I was standing.

The town of Le Rozier, just as I was entering. Like so many other places in the area (and similar to a Brad Pitt movie), a river runs through it.

From the Centre Ville, this is the view up the hill of the castle and its hillside town. Truly medieval stuff.

A brief walk up the hill brought me to one of the old castle bits. Amazing architecture, and even more amazing that people still live there to this day.

A picture from within the hillside town, the one built up around the castles. Unbelievable stuff, and makes you feel again like you're stepping back in time.
