Le Vigan was my first destination from Oxford. I actually drove a truck from Oxford to here. Well, not over the water though. I took a ferry for that. The trip was supposed to take two days, but I was so pumped about getting here that I drove for like 17 hours straight, and arrived at Le Vigan at three in the morning. Of course, all the hotels were closed for the night, so I just busted out the sleeping bag and slept in the back of the truck. A Matt Munson first, but a lot of fun!
I parked the truck behind the town hall, under a tree, and just zonked out. It was actually quite nice, but I had some really weird dreams.
Le Vigan is a very nice little town, with all of the amenities. I had my first official French transaction when I purchased a sim card for my phone at the local phone store. The woman didn't speak a work of english, and was absolutely relentless about it. She wouldn't speak slow french, or idiot french. No allowances were made for Matt Munson. Clearly, she has not been to the website.

I took this picture on the back of the ferry after leaving Dover. Check out those big cliffs! Very daunting, to say the least. Good boat ride, and a very nice looking ferry.

Seaman Matt Munson on board the good ship... er, I forget its name. Oh well. I'm sure it was quite nice. Even better, the truck was parked in the hold. Too cool.

And here we are pulling up in Calias. My first time stepping on French soil in over three years. Good to be back, I guess.

Self portrait, taken in a tunnel just outside Le Vigan. I forgot to set the emergency break on the truck, and the camera is sitting on the rear bumper. Just as I realized the truck was rolling towards me, the camera went off.

Town hall in the lovely town of Le Vigan. They were good enough to not give me a ticket for sleeping in their parking lot. Heck, I don't even know if it's a ticket worthy offense. It turned out to be a beautiful day, and the town looked stunning.

Some crazy statue in the middle of town. What's up with all those naked trees too?

The center of town. Lots of nice restaurants, cafes and shops all up and down here. VERY european. Very typical of a small town, and very cool

A nice shot of one of the side streets off the center of town. More typical european stuff, with a crazy old lady looking out the window of the building on the right.

Another lovely shot from the center of town. Just a beautiful little place.
