Ah, Les Eyzies. The home of Pre-History. I won't go into a huge history lesson, but I will say that this is where the early remains of Cro-Magnon man were found, and so were a bunch of pre-historic dwellings. It's pretty much a super hot spot for prehistory.

However, none of this is of any concern to Matt "adventure is my middle name" Munson. This was merely a stopping ground or launching point for a number of my adventures. Some how, I ended up staying here about five night total over the course of five or six weeks. I just kept returning here, either because it was on my way somewhere, or I just wanted someplace familiar to stay. It's actually quite a lovely little place.

Looking from under a bridge onto the Museum of Prehistory, up in the caves.

Downtown Les Eyzies. And what a bustling little town it is.

For some reason, I found this rediculously amusing. It's a life sized replica of the obelisk seen in the Stanley Kubrick movie 2001. There's no signs anywhere indicating what it is, but it fits with the whole pre-history scene. See the movie if you don't understand.
