The dates on these pictures are a little blurry in my head, but I seem to recall that this was one of my stops toward the end of my time in Les Cevennes. This is actually a very beautiful town, but it is small. I think the most unique feature of the town is the hill top chapel that is a few hundred meters above the town.

Matt Munson on approach to the town, coming in along the river. I think this photo may have been taken on my first day there, as the sun was shining. I seem to recall some rain when I was out there.

The center of town. Believe it or not, this is downtown. Much action.

This is a view from the chapel I was writing about earlier. It's a pretty steep ascent to get to it, but well worth it in the end.

This is the cocoon of a set of Processional Caterpillars. They're called this because when they emerge from these nests, they all walk in procession across the road or path or whatever to find a place to burrow where they will turn into butterflies. Sounds lovely, but the fact is that these nests and the buggers themselves kick up wicked allergic reactions to anyone who goes near them. So beware!
