This was yet another of the small french towns that I wound my way through during my big trek. I did have the luck of staying at a beautiful hotel, L'Abbaye, which is just too cool for words. But not too cool for pictures! I think the thing I liked most about this town was the caves that I accidentally discovered in the woods behind it. I got lost on a trail one day, and ended up at these two cool caves. I doubt they were of any prehistoric importance, but they were still really neat. Interesting to think that people may have lived there, or hidden there, or whatever for the past couple hundred thousand years.

A shot of the town square, taken from my hotel room.

Another picture from my hotel room, this time in the opposite direction.

This is the view from along the banks of the river Dordogne. That's the city, nestled up against the hill. Or is it a mountain??

As far as I can remember, this must be one of the views from the caves I was speaking of above. Or it may also be a view while I was heading toward the caves. Who knows.
