During a brief visit to the US, I took a road trip up to San Francisco to visit Adam Savage and the other brilliant people behind the Discovery channels hit show "Mythbusters".

DISCLAIMER!!!!!! You cannot just hop in your car and visit the Mythbusters. Adam and I have been pals for a number of years now. It's not like I just drove up to the front door and got given the VIP treatment. Do me a favor and don't drown them in e-mails and phone calls requesting a tour or something.

With that said, let me go on to say that Adam is just about the best host a dude could ever hope to have. Not only was he not pissed when I smoked all of his friends in poker, but he showed me a pretty fantastic time. Great trip all around. Big thanks also to the crew who were super friendly, and didn't mind me pokin' my nose where it didn't belong.

This picture was actually taken the next day. I'm riding shotgun in the Savage Wagon as we arrive on set. This was the same location where Mythbusters has previously done a lot of shooting, including the log canon episode.

Here's a neat picture of the San Fran skyline off in the background. Note that this is also where they filmed the freeway chase scene for the second "Matrix" film. You can still see the street lines painted on the ground. This is an abandoned air base right on the SF bay.

And here they are, the stars of Mythbusters, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. Both super cool guys who are incredibly talented.

Members of the build team play with a puppy! And no, I didn't take this photo because I thought the dog was cute. It's all about Kari. Just about the sweetest girl a fella could hope to meet. Nice tie too! Too bad she's married. I think that might be Tory on the left hand side, but it's hard to tell with all that Kari in the picture. Know what I mean?

The true hero of the show, Buster! He's already starting to look a little worse for wear. If you didn't already know, this guy weighs a TON! I tried to pick him up, and he weighs more than me.

After the myth in question had been tested, Jamie and Adam watch a high speed replay of the gag in action. I don't want to give away what happened yet, as the episode hasn't aired, but it was FANTASTIC footage. I don't think I've ever heard Adam laugh that loud.

After shooting, Adam and I went to a nearby surplus store to check out the goods. Here Adam samples some night vision goggles.

Here's yours truly, at the same store, looking quite odd in some russian paratrooper head gear, or something like that.

M5 Industries, the true home of Mythbusters. This is Jamie's shop, and is filled with the coolest stuff you could ever hope to see. Truly an amazing facility.
